WHO WE ARE: THE G3 MACHINING STORY

G3 Machining’s Steve Knecht set out to create the most efficient and high-quality machine shop for the Bloomington/Normal community in the summer of 2012. Without skilled and experienced partners or an inventory of quality machines, he knew this would be an uphill battle.

While looking for the best spot for his new machine shop, Steve met with Brandon and Rick Kuppersmith of K & K Tool & Die. Instead of discussing space rental and competing against each other, the group joined forces to form G3 Machining, LLC on January 1, 2013. The agreement allowed the company to acquire a robust skill-set with over 60 years of experience and a fully functional machine shop on day one.

The company has since completed several series of upgrades, purchased high-tech equipment, and implemented processes for efficiency and to improve the customer experience. G3 Machining’s goal remains the same as Steve and Brandon had on day one of their journey — to provide the most efficient and high-quality machine shop available for all customers and local businesses.
